2.5 hours bike trail starting and finishing at the station. The ride is 70% off road, takes in undulating heathland, great views, shady pine forest and lush river valleys in the quiet Surrey countryside.  Plenty of fun descents, and little or no mud (or boggy sand) when it was recce'd.

Red Lion pub, 1 Mill Lane, Godalming, GU7 1HF

The Red Lion is a lively, traditional pub in the heart of Godalming. Two main bars and has plenty of indoor and outside seating areas. Excellent food.The building itself has a long history, and has been a courthouse and a grammar school - where Jack Phillips who sent the SOS from the Titanic was educated!

(300 metres, 2 mins walk from the station. Real ale, food, beer garden...     and did I mention the real ale ?  They do beer too.  And lager.)
