April Bike Hash - Peaslake

Peaslake MTBO

Peaslake GU5 9RR

The event is run out of the Peaslake Memorial Hall, Walking Bottom, Peaslake. (see map, TQ085447) and will be clearly sign-posted from the centre of the village. Car parking is 100m beyond the hall (TQ084445). Peaslake itself is 2.5 miles south of Gomshall, which is on the A25, 6 miles west of Dorking. Turn at the Murco petrol station.

A bash with a difference.  No hare came forward this month so we have the following alternative....

2 or 3 hours of mountain bike orienteering at Peaslake (Gomshall/Dorking).  Ride as fast or slow as you want.  Instead of finding flour, you'll be searching for 'controls' using a map.  Ride alone, or as a team. You choose where to ride, so you can choose the nastiest scariest single track in the map, or, a gentle country lane, or anything in between, or a mixture of everything.

Maps are available from 8.30. No need to panic.  Last registration is 10.30 with last start 10.45 (or 11.45 if you do the 2 hour option). Londonbikehashers meet at registration desk at 10.00.  We can then register in groups of 2 to 5. Jane and others can help you pick good routes.

If you arrive with a team already arranged, then the earlier you arrive, the more time you get to plan.  The more planning, the better your chance of winning.  But it'll really about the riding and the socialising for most of us.

See www.peaslakemtbo.com for more information.

You can register in advance, selecting the option that suits your team. Otherwise, register on the day at 10.00 with the rest of us.

Jane/Lara/Headboy definitely going, as a "non competitive" team.  Apparently it's a lot of fun and a great way to explore the trails.

Cost: £12 each plus £2.50 for a map (min 1 per team!).

Contact on the day: Lara 07824 643581
